Who is responsible

The data controller is Veilwright Studio, based in Portugal. Contact: [email protected].

What this site does not do

  • It sets no cookies and uses no other storage in your browser.
  • It runs no advertising and does not track you across sites or build a profile of you.
  • It loads one thing from a third party: the visitor statistics script described below. Fonts and images are served from this site.
  • It has no accounts, comments or forms.

What is handled

Visiting the site

The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical details of each request, such as the page asked for, the time and your browser type, in order to deliver the page and to protect the service from abuse. The studio does not combine this with anything else and does not use it to identify visitors. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Visitor statistics

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It works without cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not fingerprint visitors. It records the page viewed, the page that linked to it, the type of browser and device, the country, and how fast the page loaded. The studio sees totals only and cannot identify anyone from them. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in knowing which pages are read.

Writing to the studio

If you send an email, the studio receives your address and whatever you write. Mail to this domain is forwarded by Cloudflare to a mailbox at Proton, in Switzerland. It is used to answer you and is kept for as long as the correspondence needs. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in answering messages, or your request where you ask for something.

Asking to join the waitlist

If you write to ask to be told when early access opens, your email address is kept for that purpose only and deleted once the message has been sent or when you ask, whichever comes first. The legal basis is your consent.

Who else receives data

  • Cloudflare, which hosts the site, counts visits and forwards email. Cloudflare is a company in the United States and may process data outside the European Union under the safeguards described in its own privacy policy.
  • Proton, which provides the mailbox. Proton is in Switzerland, which the European Commission recognises as providing adequate protection.

Personal data is not sold and is not shared with anyone else.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you can ask for access to your data, for its correction or deletion, for its use to be restricted, and for a copy you can take elsewhere. You can object to processing based on legitimate interest and withdraw consent at any time. Write to [email protected].

You can also complain to your data protection authority. In Portugal that is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD).

Age

Veilwright Studio makes games for adults. This site is safe for work, and it is written for readers aged 18 and over.

Changes

If the site starts to use a new tool that receives personal data, such as a waitlist form, this notice is updated before the tool goes live and the date above changes.
